The Cider Keg and T&J Haskett Farms Ltd., also known as Uncle Tom’s Farm Inc., is a family- owned farm and food company dedicated to growing, pressing, and bottling the finest quality apples, strawberries, horticultural crops, and production of fresh and sparkling ciders.  We work with customers coast to coast, no matter what their size to produce value added solutions.  Our portfolio includes growing primary ingredients, fresh produce for the retail market, production of award winning fresh and sparkling ciders, preserves, apple cider vinegar and custom production of apple cider for fresh, fermentation and distillation producers.  True local Canadian quality from our farm to your table on our 5th generation family farm.

Our Current Positions

Delivery Driver

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver to join our team. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering packages to our customers in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This position is a 2 – 4 days a week requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to deliver packages to customers in designated areas.
  • Load and unload packages from the delivery vehicle.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of packages before delivery.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting customers and answering any questions they may have.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle.
  • Inspect the delivery vehicle regularly.
  • Add fuel and maintain detailed records of fuel costs and mileage.
  • Deliver items by the required delivery date and time.
  • Collect payment and get signatures for proof of delivery.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all items being delivered remain intact during transport and delivery.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role.
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local roads and routes.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and work in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to drive a sprinter van and or a cube van.
  • Ability to use or willingness to learn to operate a pallet jack.

Food Safety and Production Coordinator

We are looking for a team player who will ensure production at our Vittoria, Ontario Farms and Cider Plant is carried out in the most efficient, safe, and high-quality manner possible. This position is responsible for assisting in the direction, development, and administration of the orchard and field production as well as in our Apple Cider Plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible management representative working in the production plant, orchards & fields to ensure a culture of food safety and workplace safety policy and production.
  • Support the ongoing implementation of the SQF and Canada Gap programs
  • Ensure all work is completed on schedule, within spec., and safely
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures, Provincial laws are adhered to
  • Ensure that sufficient training is provided to all associates
  • Monitor and ensure maintenance, safety and sanitation programs for compliance and frequency
  • Responsible for supervision, advising and coordinating with the field crew and production team to ensure production and quality products meet scheduling needs.
  • Schedule and act as lead representative for yearly third-party certification audits.
  • Maintain and continually updating education and certification standards.
  • Manage employee relations, mentor, coach, lead, provide recognition and progressive discipline where required.

Requirements:

  • Agricultural orchard and horticultural field production knowledge
  • Supervisory experience
  • Community College or food safety institute diploma or Food Science degree
  • Knowledge of SQF, Canada Gap, Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of computers and MS Office
  • Knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety, and HACCP
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment considered an asset
  • Motivator, conciliator, firm but fair
  • Superior communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • First Aid certification is an asset
