Christmas Traditions

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, and there are so many fun and quirky traditions around the world that come along with it! From decorating the tree to leaving shoes on the windowsill and everything in between, there's something for everyone during the holiday season. Here are just a few of the unique traditions celebrated around the world.

First up, decorating the tree. This is always a fun activity to do with friends and family, and it's a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Whether you prefer a real tree or an artificial one, there are so many ways to make it your own. From colorful lights to homemade ornaments, the possibilities are endless. Plus, there's nothing quite like the smell of a fresh pine tree in your home!

Next, in Iceland, the children will leave their shoes on the windowsill in hopes of receiving a gift from the magical Yule Lads who live in the mountains. If they were on the naughty list, they would receive a potato in their shoe!

While most people think of evergreen trees and white and snowy landscapes as the perfect Christmas, this isn’t the case for Australia. The Aussies grab a Santa hat and head down to the beach for a yuletide beach party which consists of a nice day of relaxing and spending time with their loved ones. Since Christmas falls in the middle of their summer season, they decided to embrace the warmth and do something a little different!

Overall, the holiday season is all about spending time with loved ones and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you prefer traditional activities like decorating the tree and baking cookies or something a little more unique, there's no wrong way to celebrate!
